Hoppy Beverage has been replacing plastic cups with glass cups when serving Hoppy and other beverages at its various events. With plastic cups being thrown away after each drink, a huge amount of plastic waste is generated by the end of each event. This has actually been a source of concern for us. We felt that we had to promote de-plasticization for the sake of the global environment, and it also takes a lot of manpower and expense to take the trash home and dispose of it appropriately.

On the other hand, glass cups can be washed and reused many times. And above all, glass cups and tumblers have a pleasant drinking experience that cannot be replicated with plastic. This makes the drink taste better. There are various theories as to why this is the case, but one hypothesis is that the aroma of plastic is transferred to the drink. It may be that glass cups do not spoil the original taste and flavor of the drink, but rather bring it out. Glass cups are not easy to handle and can break. However, from the perspective of preventing global warming, the advantage of not producing plastic waste is hard to beat.

Hoppy Beverage is working to contribute to the preservation of the global environment, even if only in a small way, through the promotion of the shift away from plastic.
