2016年8月のカレンダーを手がけたのは、フランス在住のイギリス人アーティスト、アンディ・ブリッジ。木材や鉄材にステンシルを施す作品で知られ、アカデミー賞受賞映画、ヤン・マーテル氏原作『ライフ・オブ・パイ/トラと漂流した227日』の本の装丁を手掛けたのも同氏。イギリスをはじめヨーロッパ各国、アメリカの出版社や作家をクライアントに持ち、数多くの書籍の装丁をデザインするほか、3D作品も積極的に創作。ミュージシャンのピーター・ガブリエル氏やファッションデザイナーのポール・スミス氏ら著名人が同氏のコレクターとして名を連ねている。
Mixed media artist and Illustrator Andy Bridge currently lives and works in France. Inspired by pop culture and printed ephemera, his work seeks to recreate varying textures of wear and tear through layered application of paint and scraping away at the surface. Since 1995 he has produced over 350 book cover illustrations for major publishers including, Random House, Penguin and Bloomsbury. Andy received the ‘Man Booker Prize Winning Cover Illustration’ award for Life of Pi by Yann Martel in 2002, and ‘Bring Up The Bodies’ by Hilary Mantel in 2012. He has received commissions from The Times, Virgin Airlines, Time Out and the BBC, with notable collectors of his work including Paul Smith and Ted Baker.
